How Wiseband uses Bridge to pitch music to DSPs
Wiseband is a renowned music distributor founded in France in 2013. The company primarily offers digital and physical distribution, as well as digital marketing services for artists and labels, and finally, merch fabrication. We got to sit down with Thomas Deschodt Gasnier, the Head of Label Management & Platform Relations at Wiseband, to find out how Wiseband uses Bridge to pitch their artists to the editorial teams at various streaming platforms.
The Pain Point: No way to send a pitch with all relevant information available at a glance
Thomas tells us that one of his primary responsibilities at Wiseband is to try and get the music they distribute placed in editorial playlists across various DSPs, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music & the like.
Though some streaming platforms have their own internal systems artists can pitch directly through, many do not, and distributors must therefore find the most effective way to send the music to the editorial teams directly, along with all the relevant information. This of course includes the track itself, but also the cover art, the artist name, the label and publisher, a few descriptive sentences to pitch the track, and all other relevant metadata such as the release date, the ISRC, the UPC, the BPM, to name a few.
Prior to using Bridge, Thomas explains that they were reliant on Soundcloud to send the tracks to the DSPs. The issue was that it was a very manual process. Not only was it time consuming, but it also wasn’t particularly easy to read for DSPs on the receiving end. It was also hard to get feedback on if the track had been listened to, when and by who, and to adapt their strategy accordingly.

The Solution: Sending pitches with all the relevant metadata using Bridge’s trackable & personalized links
One of the main reasons Wiseband has since switched over to using Bridge for this purpose, is the fact that Bridge’s allows artists to share all of their track’s information in one, user-friendly and easy-to-read place.
The metadata panels on Bridge enable you to share your track’s genre, ISRC & ISWC code, BPM, the lyrics, the name of the artist, the label and the publisher, and more.
As explained by Thomas: “It’s really important when pitching to streaming platforms that you give them a quality listening experience, where they can stream the track, download it, and consult all the metadata. Bridge perfectly fulfills that need.”
Moreover, Bridge’s share links are trackable and can be personalized, enabling you to see if the link has been opened, and if the track has been streamed or downloaded. For Wiseband, this has also been very helpful, as it has enabled them to see if their pitch has been successful or if they’d better do a follow-up.
Finally, the pitch itself can easily be written into the comments, all of this resulting in one user-friendly interface, where the DSP’s editorial team can both listen to the track, read its associated pitch and consult its metadata in one glance.
As all music industry professionals know, in such a competitive market, the easier you make it on the person you’re pitching to, the more likely they are to consider you.
“In all honesty, today, 99.9% of all the pitches we send out to DSPs are made with Bridge” says Thomas.
