Bande Originale is a music supervision agency based in France and founded in 2010 by Martin Caraux. Specialized in music for film, Bande Originale offers a comprehensive range of music services, from synchronizing pre-existing tracks to overseeing the composition of original scores, taking care of finding the appropriate music or composers, overseeing the work’s creative development where needed, and clearing all the appropriate legal rights.

The Pain Point: No seamless way to send music to clients

As a music supervisor, Martin plays a critical role in film production, overseeing the selection, licensing, and integration of music into visual media. He operates as the point of connection between music composers and film directors, working closely with directors and producers to find the right music that enhances their story, whether through original compositions or pre-existing songs. This requires a large number of audio files to be sent back and forth between multiple professionals to validate the musical choices for the film.

Using traditional tools like Google Drive, WeTransfer, Soundcloud or Dropbox, things can easily become messy and unmanageable: new links need to be sent with every update made to the music, and with every new track added to the selection, these links often expire or end up lost in old email threads, and it can be hard to keep track. Plus, all this back-and-forth all leaves a negative digital footprint on our environment.

The Solution: Storing and sending music from one centralized location

Martin tells us that he primarily uses Bridge to send music to his clients and collaborators, such as the film directors and composers he’s working with. Contrary to the traditional tools mentioned above, Bridge enables music supervisors to store and send music with all its metadata from one centralized location, thanks to share links that never expire, but whose access can be modified or turned off at any time. Moreover, these share links notify music supervisors every time their link has been clicked and whenever their music has been streamed and/or downloaded, enabling them to keep an eye on their project’s progress.

Within his Bridge workspace, Martin creates unique projects dedicated to each client in which he compiles all his reference tracks and sends them to clients.

”Creating projects on Bridge has allowed me to organize my tracks, put them in order and send them all off to clients in one go. I love that I can send projects with personalized links, it’s great to be able to keep track of who has opened my project, listened to the music, and when,” says Martin.

With Bridge’s smart workspaces, music supervisors can now optimize their workflow, increase their productivity and get a better view of how their project is progressing, all while reducing their digital footprint.
