About Mille Plateaux
Mille Plateaux is an avant-garde electronic music label founded in 1994 by Achim Szepanski in Frankfurt. Originally a sub-label of Force Inc. Music Works, Mille Plateaux became renowned for its catalog of experimental electronic genres – including minimal techno, glitch and ambient music – which have had a lasting influence on electronic music artists and styles. The label released the landmark “Clicks & Cuts” compilations (considered foundational in glitch music) and fostered many forward-thinking electronic artists. Mille Plateaux faced bankruptcy in 2004 (after the collapse of its distributor) but was later revived; it continues to release new experimental works in the 2020s under new management.

How does the relationship between record companies and artists work?
Once you have signed with a record company, you will have dedicated people to work with. Often it will be a project manager, and one or more artistic directors in charge of your project. These will be the main contacts with whom you will exchange. From then on, they will be at your service, and will listen to your needs while taking into account the specifications carried out throughout your contract.
