Announcement
All you need to know about the 2024 Cannes Sync Awards
On May 15th we announced the Cannes Sync Awards in partnership with the French Association of Music Supervisors (ASM). The goal was to give rights holders an opportunity to build a network for themselves within the sync market, and to promote the role of the music supervisor within the music industry. The results are now in, and we’re absolutely thrilled. We received over 1700 submissions from all around the world, from which 300 nominees were selected and 10 winners were announced by the ASM’s highly reputable Jury of music supervisors.
In this article, you’ll find out how we organized the contest, and who the winners and nominees are.
How it worked
Participants were first led to this landing page, where they were asked to choose a scene from one of seven Palme d’Or winning films, and to pitch one of their tracks as an alternative sync placement for that scene.
On our end, we created a Bridge workspace entirely dedicated to the Cannes Sync Awards to give the French Association of Music Supervisors easier access to the submissions. Participants were able to pitch their track directly to this workspace via its Bridge inbox as shown below.
Our team then sent the tracks that adhered to the contest rules to the jury in separate projects.
After several individual listening sessions, the members of the ASM jury met in person for nearly four hours (!) on June 26th to select the 10 pitches that stood out the most. Finally, on June 27th, during the Soeurs Jumelles Festival in France, the jury announced these 10 official winners, detailing the reasons for choosing the top 5.

And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for, here are the 10 winners of the Cannes Sync Awards.
These winners have won a variety of prizes including a meeting with the Jury themselves, exclusive spots on our very own Sync Hub and, for some, a free Essential plan from Your Music Marketing to assist them with their music marketing needs.
Let’s take a more focused look at the top 3 winners, shall we?
Focus on the top 3 winners
1st place: Louis Fontaine
Louis Fontaine is a talented, self-taught multi-instrumentalist and composer, originally from the Milan area and now based in Paris. He crafts rich productions and unique melodic universes. His track “L’Obsession” , pitched for a scene from the film “Taxi Driver” won the hearts of the Jury.
2nd place: Kévin Colombin
Colombin’s passion for composition was born from his love of video games. He started composing music in 2016 and has since worked on several diverse gaming projects including Aka, Mind Beneath Us, Mona, Wild Dose, and more. For the Cannes Sync Awards, he pitched a unique alternative sync proposition for the movie “Taxi Driver” that compelled the Jury.
3rd place: Benson Herbert
Herbert has a wealth of post audio and musical experience spanning over 7 years. He’s worked for top post-sound companies including Wave and Factory Studios and has also seen music released on major record labels including Island and Warner Brothers recordings. His cinematic composition proposal for the movie “The Tree of Life” blew the Jury away and secured him a spot in the Top 3.
