2023: a year of achievements in music technology

Last year, Bridge put significant effort in bettering its tool and its use for the audio industry with cutting-edge technology. Our journey in 2023 was marked by several breakthroughs, each designed to enhance the creative process and streamline workflow for audio professionals.

Presentation of the 6 big updates of Bridge in 2023 : Music Auto-Tagging, Moving content across workspaces, improved inbox,Faster uploads, Record labels directory, getting you whole catalog on Bridge

AI Music Auto-Tagging: a game changer for music analysis

One of our most notable achievements was the introduction of AI-powered music auto-tagging. This feature, developed using our proprietary AI music analysis technology, represents a leap forward in music tagging. It’s not just about tagging; it’s about categorizing music at a deeper level, ensuring that every piece of audio is accurately classified in your workspace. For music professionals, this means less time spent on manual tagging and more time for creative endeavors.

Streamlining file and project transfers

Another major advancement was the improvement in the movement of files, projects, and entire catalogs. Whether within a single workspace or between multiple workspaces, these enhancements have significantly reduced the time and effort required for organizing and sharing audio files. This feature particularly benefits teams working on large-scale projects, fostering better collaboration and efficiency.

Revolutionizing audio delivery: the Audio Inbox

The launch of the full audio inbox feature marked a turning point in addressing delivery challenges in the music industry. This revolutionary tool, provided for free and with unlimited access, is not just a simple inbox. It’s fitted with a high-performance audio player and a metadata reader, making the handling of incoming audio files seamless and efficient. The impact on workflow, particularly for professionals dealing with high volumes of tracks and audio files, has been profound.

Enhanced upload and streaming performances

Bridge commitment to providing a superior user experience was evident in our enhancements to upload and streaming services. We increased upload speeds, expanded file size limits, and improved the overall quality of streaming. These improvements were not just about numbers; they were about providing a seamless, frictionless experience for users who rely on our platform for their daily audio needs.

The Directory: a tool to help you find a record label

The Record Labels Directory emerged as a valuable resource for music professionals worldwide. It’s more than just a list of contacts; it’s a gateway to global opportunities. With key information about labels, how to contact them, and direct links to their Bridge inboxes, the Directory has become an indispensable tool for artists’ research.

Effortless catalog import

We also simplified the process of importing entire music catalogs onto Bridge, including metadata, without any manual effort from our users. This service has been particularly beneficial for users looking to migrate large volumes of files, ensuring that their transition to Bridge is smooth and hassle-free. All the information about catalog import can be found on this dedicated page.

What awaits in 2024: bridging to new heights

As we step into 2024, we are excited to announce a range of new features and improvements that will further simplify the way music professionals interact with our technology.

Presentation of Bridge’s 6 upgrades scheduled for 2024 : Sync Hub, Projects in Projects, Mobile Version, Auto-Tagging improvement, Search Improvement, DDEX improvement

Launching the Sync Hub: our new marketplace

The Sync Hub, Bridge new marketplace for sync, is now launched for labels and publishers (and it will be open to artists later this year). This platform is a game-changer, for both right holders and music buyers. It’s designed to make music more accessible to a wide range of buyers, creating new opportunities for exposure and revenue. The Sync Hub is not just a marketplace; it aims to become a community where creators, buyers, and music enthusiasts can connect and collaborate. We plan on creating more thematic hubs in the months to come.

Micro-level workspace organization

The ‘Projects in Projects’ feature, set to debut in 2024, is a testament to our commitment to organizational excellence. This (very requested) feature will allow users to manage their workspaces with unprecedented precision and flexibility. Whether it’s a large-scale project with multiple components or a smaller, more focused task, this feature will enable users to organize their workspaces down to the minutest detail, with custom folders and sub-folders within a given project.

Bridge goes mobile

Perhaps one of the most anticipated developments for 2024 is the launch of a fully mobile responsive Bridge.audio. This move signifies our understanding of the need for mobility and flexibility in today’s fast-paced world. With the mobile version of Bridge, users will be able to navigate their workspace, organize files, share elements, and even play received items on their phones. This development is not just about convenience; it’s about staying connected and productive, no matter where you are.

Advancements in auto-tagging and AI

We continue to push the boundaries of AI in music technology. This year, we’re introducing new features for music analysis, including the ability to analyze YouTube, Soundcloud, and Deezer URLs. On our Discord, our /story command is another innovation, providing users with a text description of tracks for promotional or editorial purposes. The /analyze command is also set to be enhanced, offering comprehensive music tags, key, BPM, and lyrics language in one go.

Enhanced search functionality

Searching for specific tracks or audio elements in a vast catalog can be daunting. In 2024, we’re making this easier with significant improvements to our search functionality. Users will be able to type any keyword in the search bar and filter their catalog with related tags like genre, instrument, or mood. This feature is about saving time and making the discovery process more intuitive and efficient. We will also work on improving the search feature when it comes to tags, metadata, natural language or even simply inside projects.

Simplifying DDEX import

To further streamline the process of catalog management, we are improving the DDEX import functionality. This enhancement is aimed at easing the ingestion of catalogs, making the process smoother and more user-friendly. We will be working on integrating Label and Publishers metadata as well as a few others.

As we embark on this exciting journey in 2024, we remain committed to innovation and excellence. We thank you for being part of our adventure, and we look forward to continuing to build the best tools possible for the music and audio community. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward into a year full of potential and growth at Bridge.
